Description - Our Mat Tape is a clear vinyl tape with an aggressive adhesive. This wrestling mat tape is 8 MIL thick and is perfect to use with our roll out mats and foam tiles. Even though this mat tape features an aggressive adhesive, it is still removable without causing any damage or leaving a residue. This tape also offers a strong bond in a wide range of temperatures and can be applied easily.
Material – Vinyl film coated on one side with a water based acrylic adhesive.
Size – 4” wide x 84 ft long per roll.
Weight – Approximately 1.64 Lbs. per roll.
Recommended Uses – Our Mat Tape offers an excellent low cost solution for adhering a wide variety of flooring and mat products together. This product has been used by home users, do-it-yourselfers and commercial flooring installers to put together wrestling mats, tumbling mats, roll out mats, foam tiles, carpet tiles, folding mats and other residential and commercial applications.

Mat Tape is easy to use. To ensure good adhesion, it is recommended to clean your mats and make sure they are dry before applying the tape.

For a less permanent hold, we recommend using our double sided tape. For a more permanent hold, we recommend using our adhesives. The adhesives we recommend are our polyurethane adhesive or our 5900 Series adhesive.
Can this tape be used on your 7/8" Jumbo Soft Foam 2'x2' tiles?

You can use our Mat Tape on our Jumbo Soft Foam Tiles. You wouldn't need to since these tiles are interlocking tiles. The tape is somewhat aggressive, so when removing the tape, you may damage some of the tiles.
Can this be used for your carpet tiles?

Technically you can use our Mat Tape with our Carpet tiles. If you just want to keep the tiles together, it will work just fine. If you are looking to keep the tiles together and keep them fixed to the subfloor, we would suggest using our double-sided tape.
Is this tape good to be used with a porous rubber mat?

Our Mat Tape can be used on rubber mats.
Will this tape hold up to frequent exposure to water, e.g. hosing down the floor?

As long as the tape has adhered properly, you should be able to hose down your mats without the tape losing its grip. If water were to get under the tape, over time the tape will lose its grip.
I am wanting to put gym mats on the walls so we can be able to run into them while shooting. I am having a hard time finding something that will hold them but not ruin the walls. Would this product work on drywall without damaging it? We want to be able to take the mats off and on with no damage.
Mat tape would not usually damage paint or walls, however unpainted drywall is especially difficult to stick tape to because it is often dusty from construction. You would need to clean the surface thoroughly. It would also depend on the weight of the mat used.
is this a shiny or matte finish?

Sometimes, a rubber flooring installation can run into issues, especially where seams are concerned...but this flooring project went very smoothly thanks to purchasing a combination of both the adhesive and the tape to make sure the seams were hardly noticeable at all. Topping off the installation with the cleaner/e-greaser and the finish/sealer, and we have a beautiful finished product that is laid down very well, with nearly invisible seams.
