Description - Our 3/8" soft wood tiles offer a low cost foam flooring surface with the attractive appearance of a wood floor combined with the softness and cushion of a foam tile. These tiles interlock to make for an easy DIY installation and include detachable edge pieces so that each tile has the ability to be a center, corner, or border tile. Soft wood tiles are also water resistant, easy to clean, and act as an excellent insulator against sound and temperature transmission. Smaller numbers of tiles can be used to make portable and quick to assemble exercise mats.
Note: This product is not designed for medium to high traffic areas. The wooden design can be punctured under sharp animal nails, rough use, high heels, and the wooden pattern is not guaranteed to always line up between interlocking tiles.
Material – 3/8" Soft wood tiles are constructed of closed cell EVA foam that helps ensure they are water resistant, odor free, light weight yet durable and insulating.
Size – 2' x 2' (Note: Tiles do overlap 1” where they lock together)
Thickness – 3/8 Inch nominal (~9mm)
Weight – Each tile weighs approximately 0.625 Lbs.
Recommended Uses – 3/8" Soft wood tiles have been used successfully as light duty home gym flooring, exercise mats, trade show flooring, exhibit flooring, retail display flooring, living areas, conventions, or any other location where an elegant yet cushioning flooring surface would be useful.

  • All of our 3/8” thick soft wood tiles are in stock and ready to ship via Fedex.
  • Soft wood tiles typically ship the same day or the next business day and deliver within 2-7 business days depending on your location.
  • An email will automatically be sent to you with your tracking information as soon as your tiles ship.

  • 3/8” thick soft wood tiles can be maintained just like your wood flooring at home.
  • The recommended cleaning instructions typically include sweeping the tiles to remove any loose or dry dirt, crumbs, dust, or debris.
  • To clean harder stains or liquids off of the soft wood tiles, the tiles should be wiped off with a damp rag or temporarily lifted and cleaned under warm running water in a sink or bath tub.

Installation of interlocking tiles is very simple and typically done by the consumer. Typical installation of these tiles is as follows:
  • First, clean your sub floor so it is free of all dirt, grease or debris.
  • Start in one corner of the room with a corner tile and add border tiles outward along the adjacent walls. Add center, corner, and border tiles where you see fit.
  • When coming up to an opposite wall, make sure you cut the tiles to fit the area leaving a gap that’s roughly the thickness of the tiles being used to account for expansion and contraction of the floor tiles in varied temperature ranges.
Note: When piecing interlocking tiles together, adhesives are usually not used since the weight of the locked together product is usually enough to keep the floor tiles from moving. However, if you do experience movement and would like to ensure that the tiles do not slide at all, some double-sided tape or mat tape can be used around the perimeter of the installation to prevent any movement.

    Q:

While I was reading your reviews, one stated that the shrink wrap around the tiles warped the tiles making it hard for them to lay flat. Is this true?

    A:

After receiving some complaints about this issue, we decided to not shrink wrap our 3/8" Soft Wood Tiles going forward. This will not be an issue with either our Textured Mocha or Textured Maple colors.

    Q:

Do you have any foam mats that have ramped edges to prevent tripping?

    A:

For our 3/8" Soft Wood Tiles, we do not have a beveled ramp. We are currently working on adding beveled ramps to our all of our soft tile options so be on the look out for this option in the near future.

    Q:

Are the Soft Wood Tiles waterproof? I am putting them in a dogs playroom. Thanks.

    A:

Our 3/8" Soft Wood Tiles are water resistant, not waterproof. They would work just fine in a dog's playroom. The only issue you will run into is that the tiles may get damaged by the dog's nails.

    Q:

I'm looking for rubber tiles or a mat that can be put over the hardwood flooring in my home playroom. I'm looking for something that won't leave a stain or residue on the wood flooring. Any suggestions?

    A:

Our 3/8" Soft Wood Tiles can be used for this application and will not leave a residue on your hardwood flooring.

Fabulous Product!
5/5 3/8" Soft Wood Tiles
Ashley from Dallas, TX
I just wrapped up a large trade show where I used the soft wood tiles as my booth flooring. I could not have been more pleased. I am a florist, so my booth esthetic is very important. The tiles looked very nice, and an added bonus is that they are somewhat soft and are so much better than carpet if you are going to be standing all day. I even had someone spill water all over my booth, and we just mopped it up off of the tiles. No damage at all. I was a little worried because I read that objects like high heels may puncture the tile, but I did not have this issue. I highly recommend this product, especially for trade shows.

pay the extra $ for the 5/8 thickness
3/5 3/8" Soft Wood Tiles
Carrie from Wisconsin
This flooring is OK. We put it in a rec room area. The tiles do not stay perfectly together (gap) and I fear the the top film will tear easily. They arrive wrapped in groups of 4 tiles with plastic, and it causes the edges of the puzzle pieces to compress down so when you try to lock it up to another piece, the puzzle pieces are not perfectly level to each other. I had ordered a sample of the 5/8 thick in Dark Oak and we decided that we would save some money and get the 3/8 thick Dark Oak. Don't make the same mistake we did and assume the color would be the same for either floor. Dark Oak in the 3/8" is much more yellow/orange toned. Unfortunately, I had already painted the room to match the sample of the 5/8 flooring. It will work for now, but I don't expect the flooring to last. The foam core is much softer in comparison with the 5/8 inch flooring. Buyer Beware.

Nice soft floor

My wife and I put this in the basement. It work great on the concrete part on the low profile carpet there were some issues. The don't lay perfectly flat over the carpet but still provide an easy to clean, soft surface for our son to crawl around on. Hindsight we would have bought the 5/8" thick. Overall very good flooring.

great product

We run a small Pilates studio and decided to pull up the carpet and put down these foam tiles. We were a little worried about some of the equipment since it's pretty heavy- so we opted for the 3/8 version instead - thinking it would be a firmer surface and "indent" less. We have had the floor down now for about 3 weeks and love it. We bought some furniture sliders and keep the heavy equipment on those full time to spread the weight and so far it's worked perfectly. It looks wonderful, feels wonderful, you can get down and roll on it like a mat, great to walk on and workout on. In hindsight we could have easily gone with the 5/8 thickness and may do that if we need to replace it in a few years. It's pretty darn tough stuff and goes down super fast and easy. We did the whole thing in about 6 hours and thats including custom fitting a whole section to fit around a heater and closet. One thing to know is that the product has some red to it- less blonde than we thought. Just to keep in mind. Overall a great product, it came fast and well packaged.

So happy with our purchase

We received these great foam tiles that look like hardwood floor. We use them for our basement/playroom. They make the room look great but are comfy to sit on when the kids play. Easy to install and they recommended enough tiles based on room dimensions with some left over for extra. Very happy!

Carla from Stevensville, Maryland
Good customer service, sent me a piece that came in not a good condition. happy because my Kids have a place to sit and play but not happy with the sides of the mat, i tried everything to fix it (tape, putting heavy things on top ) but did not work. (The sides goes up instead of being closed to the floor) and when they walk they are always falling down.

Used at Exhibit Booth
4/5 3/8" Soft Wood Tiles
Crystal from St Louis, MO
Purchase of flooring was 2-fold: To give our booth a nicer look, and to make standing on concrete for days more tolerable. I exhibit at conferences frequently, and always have sore feet/knees after the conferences. This flooring did not disappoint in that respect! It was easy to put together. Note that the two pieces of edging on the tiles are different. This is important as you're putting the tiles together. Once I figured that out (after a long day of travel), the rest was easy! One thing I'll do differently next time, is to tape the edges all down. Our booth gets a lot of traffic, and the edges bent up quickly. Many tripped on the bent up edges. It's a floating floor, so any parts that were secured down (by tables or tape) didn't move, while the others did. This caused the tongue and groove areas to separate. The tape will damage the finish of the edging, but will be necessary to keep it from separating and bending up. At the end of the day it was a good purchase, but not as durable as I had hoped.
