Description - We at IncStores are proud to introduce our new Premium Soft Wood Tiles. Our new foam backed tiles offer the same modern and attractive appearance, but offer much more durability being more scratch-resistant and can withstand more abuse. These high quality tiles are still easy to install, low cost, light weight, and water resistant which means they can be installed in a variety of situations. These foam flooring tiles also help to reduce sound transmission and help to keep users insulated from cold subfloors below. Each tile comes with two removable edge pieces attached which allows you to turn any tile into a corner, border, or center tile; and just like our standard soft wood tiles, our new soft wood tiles are 100% allergen free and latex free.
Note: This product is not designed for medium to high traffic areas. The wooden design is a thin yet durable veneer like foam surface that can be punctured under sharp animal nails, rough use, high heels, and the wooden pattern is not guaranteed to always line up between interlocking tiles.
Material – Soft wood tiles are constructed of closed cell high density foam that helps ensure they are water resistant, odor free, light weight yet durable and insulating.
Size – 2' x 2'.
Thickness – ~14mm
Weight – Each tile weighs approximately 1.88 Lbs.
Spec Sheet - Printable Spec Sheet.
Recommended Uses – Soft wood tiles have been used successfully as basement flooring, trade show flooring, exhibit flooring, retail display flooring, living areas, conventions, or any other location where an elegant yet cushioning flooring surface would be useful.

In Stock - Ships between Sep 16 - 17

  • Premium soft wood tiles can be maintained just like your wood flooring at home.
  • The recommended cleaning instructions typically include sweeping the tiles to remove any loose or dry dirt, crumbs, dust, or debris.
  • To clean harder stains or liquids off of the soft wood tiles, the tiles should be wiped off with a damp rag or temporarily lifted and cleaned under warm running water in a sink or bath tub.
  • For our dark wood colors, scuffing can be a problem. To remove the scuff marks from these tiles, we recommend using pledge. This will not remove and surface damage, but will help minimize the appearance of the scuff mark.

Installation of interlocking tiles is very simple and typically done by the consumer. Typical installation of these tiles is as follows:
  • First, clean your sub floor so it is free of all dirt, grease or debris.
  • Start in one corner of the room with a corner tile and add border tiles outward along the adjacent walls. Add center, corner, and border tiles where you see fit.
  • When coming up to an opposite wall, make sure you cut the tiles to fit the area leaving a gap that’s roughly the thickness of the tiles being used to account for expansion and contraction of the floor tiles in varied temperature ranges.
Note: When piecing interlocking tiles together, adhesives are usually not used since the weight of the locked together product is usually enough to keep the floor tiles from moving. However, if you do experience movement and would like to ensure that the tiles do not slide at all, some double-sided tape or mat tape can be used around the perimeter of the installation to prevent any movement.

  • Perfect for light traffic areas.
  • Are 100% allergen and latex free!
  • Each tile includes two detachable edge pieces.
  • More durable and scratch resistant.
  • Wood pattern is not guaranteed to line up between tiles.
  • Can be punctured by high heels, animal nails and furniture.
  • Free shipping after 10 tiles.

Customer Questions & Answers

Don't see what you're looking for?
Are the tiles themselves 2'x2' or does that include the removable ends pieces in the 2'x2' measurement? Also, I was considering this for a home pilates studio. I don't mind if the tiles indent from the pilates reformer, however, will the forward and backward impact on the machine cause the tiles to rip?
Our Premium Soft Wood Tiles are 2' x 2' with the removable edge pieces. With them removed the tiles are 23.38" x 23.38". These tiles can be used under a Pilates Reformer since the machine itself is stationary. The weight of the machine will create an indentation in the tiles. So if you were to move the machine you could move the tiles that were placed underneath it to hide the damaged tiles. If you are looking for a product that will hold up better to the weight of the machine, I would suggest using our Impact Rolls - Wood Series. This product gives you the look of wood with a durable vinyl top layer.
Are tiles fireproof if used in a kitchen?
Our 5/8" Premium Soft Wood Tiles are not fire proof, but they are fire resistant.
Will high heels ruin this type of flooring? I'm looking for something durable to use in a photography studio.
Our Premium Soft Wood Tiles are made of foam and can be damaged by high heels. If you are looking for a wood look floor that will give you some anti-fatigue properties and stand up to high heels, we recommend our Eco-Impact Roll - Wood Series or our Impact Rolls - Wood Series.
Can the rubber tiles be used on stairs?
Our Premium Soft Wood tiles can be used on stairs. The veneer on these tiles may not stand up to the traffic that is found on stairs, but they can be installed on them. To install these tiles to stairs you will need to glue them with a pressure sensitive adhesive. Our 5000 series adhesive works well for this application.
What do you do in a door frame, if no taper is available?
When you come to a door when installing our Premium Soft Wood Tiles, you can use any reducer between the tiles and the flooring it's coming to. We recommend using a standard flooring trim that matches the flooring you are coming to. We offer a wide range of standard flooring trims on our Trims and Moldings page.

I did my whole kitchen in dark oak for about $100 and they held up for about 5 years. They now have significant spots where the woodgrain pattern layer chipped/wore off. I am going to reorder. I think these are a great deal, and everyone who walks in is fooled, and then pleasantly surprised at the feeling under their feet. Even in the heat and humidity of Houston, I haven't had any issue with weird stuff growing under these in the kitchen, which I was worried about at first.

I ordered samples first at the time there were only 3 colors, and the darkest wood looked almost black. I am ordering a cherry sample this time to see how it looks, as that is my preference, but will be happy with dark oak again, too (the light oak clashed with the whitewashed cabinets). The used tiles are going to get a second life doubled up as bench cushion stuffing, and as a mat under other smaller rugs because structurally they are still like new.

A little tip, it seems that they are printed in 4 tile squares, so lay them out first, and find the blocks of 4 tiles have a continuous print and put those in the most conspicuous areas. Since I installed them, my eye went to the imperfections and the tooth pattern, but people don't really notice until they realize its foam. As long as your expectations are reasonable its definitely a better way to go than just expensive gel mats everywhere. (2 photos are after 5 years installed)

I ordered these tiles in three different orders to make sure they would be what we wanted for our basement floor and they are fantastic. It is warmer in the basement now, as well as looks great (great comments from the neighbors when they saw and walked on it) and most of all the Grandkids love the new floor. My wife has a 14 foot longarm quilting machine there and the flooring makes it great to work there now for her because of the cushioning provided by the tiles over the concrete floor and the light oak finish makes the basement much brighter and friendly.

The product is great and the service is even better. I had 6 tiles that developed bubbles in the surface and they were replaced with no problems and very quickly. Our new basement floor is 43'x 19' so 6 tiles out of all of that is not much of a problem.

Thank you for the great floor and service to go with it. This is "Grandma and Grandkid Approved flooring"
