Great for protecting kids from hard floors!
Self-installed in Childs bedroom
from Baltimore, MD wrote...
I purchased several of these to cover the hardwood floors in my 3 kids bedrooms. They are decorative and functional and I love them. On the site when they calculate tiles for you, I now understand why they estimate so many tiles. The overlap of the tiles does lose you a few inches on each side. I did not make mine wall to wall, it has like a one foot perimeter on the edges. The only downfall is that once heavy furniture is on it, it will leave crush marks that will not resolve, but that is to be expected. Also, I did not take into account how thick the tiles may be because two of my childrens doors would not slide over the tile and I had to remove a piece to allow for door clearance. All in all, I am very happy with this product. Just trying to give a few extra pointers when ordering.
Knitter's delight!

I purchase the tiles to use as blocking mats. The tiles are phenomenal! They are substantially heavier than the interlocking blocking mats I have. This really helps when you're stretching the fabric to the correct size. Added bonus if I'm not using them to block they are really comfortable for exercising. WIN, WIN I plan to order more.

I ordered the 5/8" interlocking soft tiles in purple and grey for my 7 month old daughter. After shopping around all the foam tile options at retail stores, I was pleased to discover these beautiful, durable, easy to clean and assemble, safe tiles. All the other foam tiles on the market required connectors, which make assembly tedious, are a choking hazard, not to mention an eye sore. These foam tiles go beautifully in any home, making a safe space for children to play and explore without making your living area look like a jungle gym or funhouse. The customer service at is phenomenal. I worked with Whitney Eldridge who was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make sure I was informed and satisfied with the product. My order arrived via FedEx in only three short days with free shipping. I do not have enough great things to say about my experience with this company and their exceptional product. If you are in the market for foam tiles or mats, is definitely the place to go!

Great for blocking handknits

Purchased 6 for blocking hand knits. They lay flat and hold pins well. Better and cheaper than the 12" mats sold for that purpose.

Cons: Color not as advertised. Too much gray, not enough brown. Also, "cuts" too easy. Even with plastic caps on card table and card table chairs, doesn't take much to permanently cut surface of tiles. Pros: Easy to work with, cutting to fit around obstructions such as steps, etc. While color is "wrong", color is consistent within this shipment/ lot number. Observations: Different texture on top and bottom so cannot just flip over if problem, must totally replace. Also, thickness somewhat variable so many edges show where joined together. Overall probably got what we paid for. Should have ordered samples first but time was of essence- strongly recommend prospective buyers do so.

Really like the size and texture of the tiles but I would be careful on the color you choose. I chose pink and blue and they are very hard to clean. Show dirt and every footprint on them. If had to do over again, would go with one neutral color and something that wouldn't show every mark.

I didn't order sample first because a family member already purchased this tile for their playroom. Use the Rubber Flooring website room calculator to purchase enough 5/8" Premium soft tiles. Started at the far right corner and worked across and down the floor. Measured twice to cut-in to the baseboard on left side. Used a large sharp scissors (*or razor knife) to cut the Soft Tiles. Cut slow following the line and with little effort cutting, the results are smooth, straight and tight fit to the baseboard. Excellent flooring for our grandson's playroom.

I love the color and texture for our yoga training room but it stains easily from tea and shows hair and specks of dirt very easily. I did order sample but didn't realize the color and texture not good for keeping clean.
Love it!

This is not my first time to order the 5/8" soft tiles! They are wonderful and I highly recommend them. The company is an extremely fast shipper, the product is exceptionally durable and their quality can't be beaten! I will be ordering again from Rubber Flooring, Inc.

You can buy fancy tiles from a baby brand or buy these, which are just as good! And they offer more colors and size/number of tiles to fit your exact needs.
Very soft!

Okay, so we had only had these tiles down (we bought 20) for about two days when we noticed they were starting to get little holes in them. We absolutely love how soft they are because it makes them perfect for our daughters’ play room, but they definitely are not very durable. The “holes” were coming from our dogs, which they hardly ever walk on it, but when they do, their little nails puncture the foam. Otherwise, we do love these mats and they make our daughters falls much softer! They are also fairly easy to clean, but if liquid sits on them for too long, it leaves a dark spot.

Nice and thick. Have them in my living room playpen for our son. I wish they where a little easier to keep clean though. We have pets and sometimes the vacuum doesn't pick everything up on them and I have to lint roller. Often need to wash by hand with a wet rag, and they take a while to dry. Oh... And I have a cat and dog and some of their hind claws have put some pits in the tiles, but that doesn't concern me much. Eventually we will flip them and use them in a different room.

The tiles are wonderful. They are just what I was looking for to place in our play yard for our grandson whom we babysit full time. We use them in the house, on our patio, at the park to keep his playing surface soft and will use them at the beach the first chance we get. They are light weight and easy to transport.

We are redoing laundry room and basement. Used tiles to create a temporary walkway on concrete to laundry room. No cutting. When working we just disassemble (couple minutes). Work and clean up Then reassemble (a couple minutes). This will eventually become the play area floor but its working well as a temporary path. And with another room to remodel, may be a while before it goes to its final spot. Pieces keep their shape and lock and unlock easily

Initially ordered samples of the soft interlocking tiles to determine if the checkerboard color scheme in my head was going to work. Was pleased with the timely delivery of my sample tiles as well as my order. Very easy to install. Liked the color, softness of the tiles and greatly appreciated that they knew how many tiles I needed..would have been a mess for me to figure out on my own. Measurements were accurate. Would definitely order from here again if the need arose. ##buildaplayroommommy##
